Instructors: Shelly Fryer and Michaela Freeland
Instructor Bio: Shelly Fryer (@sfryer) is a teacher, speaker, and advocate for children. She teaches 3rd grade students at Casady School, and teaches a variety of afterschool and summer enrichment classes for students focused on coding, developing computational thinking, physical computing with robotics, and problem solving. Shelly loves incorporating Maker Education (MakerEd) themes and activities into lessons with students. She enjoys creatively integrating technology into lessons, especially when students are able to create and share media to show what they have learned and can do. Shelly was named a national PBS Digital Innovator in 2015, and became a certified Code.org Elementary Trainer in 2018. She enjoys helping elementary students love learning!

Instructor Bio: Michaela is a 25 year educator with 21 years experience in teaching technology and in librarianship for grades 1-8. As an A+ Fellow, she found her love of incorporating artistic endeavors within the educational process. Her philosophy of education involves allowing students choice in the learning process while providing authentic learning experiences. Michaela is a wife and mother of two pre-teen children and loves to spend time cooking, tinkering, and reading.
